Spark: Ideas That Ignite: Wk1 - A Conversation with Ann Smith
Having served nearly three-decades as a missionary to Japan and Korea with her late husband, Nathan, Ann grew up in the deep south with very little formal education. She never formally graduated from a high school because as the last child at home in the early part of the nineteenth century, she was forced to go to work for six years in a steel mill at age 16 when her father drowned.
As a life-long learner, Ann has received her undergraduate degree from Anderson College, her master’s degree from Scarritt College in Nashville, TN, and was awarded an honorary doctorate by Anderson University in 1977. After returning from the mission field, she served on the Church of God Missionary Board, Anderson University’s Director of Church Relations and as a member of the Anderson University Board of Trustees.
At the age of 97, Ann is one of the most beloved speakers in the fifteen-year history of Crosspoint. Her wisdom, growth mindset, new discoveries, and love for pursuing and following the heart of Jesus is like drinking deep and her inspiration nourishes the soul.
